Plain-language terms for the Lantore beta. They are a working draft that is pending legal review. If something here worries you, ask us before you sign up.
1. Who Lantore is for
Lantore is for parents and legal guardians who want to look out for their own minor child (under 18), openly. By creating an account you confirm you are such a parent or guardian, that you will install Lantore only on a device your child uses, and that you will tell your child that it is installed.
During setup you attest, in writing, that: you are the child's parent or legal guardian; the PC is your child's own; your child is under 18; and you will not use Lantore to monitor another adult. We record these attestations with the date and the version of these terms.
2. No covert use, no adult monitoring
You must not use Lantore to monitor your partner, an employee or any adult, or any child who is not yours to supervise. You must not hide Lantore, disguise it, interfere with its tray icon or child notices, or evade security software. We may suspend or end accounts that do. Where the law requires consent or notice for monitoring, including for voice or other people's messages, you are responsible for meeting it. Voice monitoring is off unless you turn it on, and is not available in every region.
3. Verification
We may ask a verification partner to confirm that an adult completed a verification for your email address. This does not prove you are a child's parent, which is why we also ask you to attest. We may refuse or end service if we cannot confirm guardian authority, or if it is withdrawn.
4. What Lantore is, and is not
Lantore is an automated tool that raises concerns for you to look at. It will produce false alarms and it will miss things. It is not a substitute for supervision, professional advice or emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Lantore does not contact authorities or other people for you.
5. Regions and sanctions
Lantore is available only in the regions listed on the regions page. We may block access from other places. You must not use Lantore in a country or by a person subject to trade sanctions that prohibit it, or where the law forbids this kind of monitoring.
6. The beta
The service is free during the beta and provided "as is", without promises about availability, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. Features may change or stop. If we start charging, you will be asked to choose a plan; nothing is charged without your explicit agreement, and we will give notice before the beta ends.
7. Your account
Keep your password and parent PIN private. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can export your data and delete your account at any time.
8. Your data
How we handle data is described in the privacy notice, which is part of these terms. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your child's chats to train AI models.
9. Acceptable use
Do not misuse Lantore, attempt to break or probe it, reverse engineer it to avoid its safeguards, or use it to harass or harm anyone. Report security issues to security@lantore.com.
10. Ending things
You can stop using Lantore at any time. Withdrawing your guardian authority or a required permission stops monitoring. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms, or end the beta, and we will explain why where we can.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Lantore is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for harm that an alert missed or caused. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes and contact
We will update these terms as the product grows and tell account holders about material changes. Questions: hello@lantore.com.
